Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is included in a bridal makeup trial? The trial includes skin prep and full makeup application with lashes where we discuss your desired look and test different products to ensure you're happy with your glam on your wedding day. It's also a grest way to connect prior to your day so we both feel comfortable and confident when the wedding roles around. *All bridal trials are held at my home studio in Torquay*
2. How far in advance should I book my makeup services? It’s best to book your Makeup Artist at least 10-12 months in advance, especially during peak wedding season. I know alot of info out there says 6-12 months however this has left alot of brides disappointed.
3. Do you have a minimum of faces you travel for? Yes, my minimum to travel outside of my studio location is for 4+ faces or to the value of 4 faces. I accommodate large bridal parties and will arrange additional artists from my team if needed.
4. Do you travel to the venue, and is there a travel and early morning fee? Yes, I am available for on-site makeup services, and travel fees will apply depending on the location. Early morning fees apply if I am required to leave home before 6am to get to the location ontop of the travel fee. All bridal trials are held in Torquay at my home studio.
5. What type of makeup products do you use? I use high-quality, long-lasting products from top brands that ensure a flawless finish that photographs beautifully. Think Mecca, Mac and Sephora brands.
6. How should I prepare for my makeup trial or wedding day? Please come with a clean, moisturized face, and avoid lash extensions or Lash lifts. Avoid any new skincare or treatments prior to your appointment. A spray tan is recommended * if you're having one for your wedding * as makeup looks totally different on fair skin than tanned and the goal of your makeup trial is to get a really good feel for how youll look on the day. A good tip is to try book yout tan trial a couple of days prior to your makeup trial. It is also beneficial to wear your hair similar to how you're going to wear on the day or better yet book your trial the same day!
7. What happens if someone in the bridal party cancels? If someone cancels after booking, the full fee for the original number of faces will still apply. You are welcome to replace the original person for someone else but if this isnt possible you will still be required to pay the amount agreed on apon booking.
8. How long does the makeup application take? Your bridal trial will be a 2 hour appointment to allow time for us to connect, discuss your desired look, skin type etc. On the day your makeup will take between 75-90 mins. For other members of the bridal party, it’s around 45-60 minutes per person. I always like to allow some time as a buffer because you usally need it and I want to offer the best and most relaxing experience for you.
9. Can I request changes after the trial? Absolutely! If there’s anything from the trial that you’d like to adjust or change, please let me know. My goal is for you to love your look and some times that means changing a lip/ adding a little more to an eye etc. You are absolutely incouraged to let me know your honest thoughts, its your day!
10. Do you offer touch-up services throughout the day? Yes, I offer touch-up packages or full-day services to ensure your makeup stays flawless throughout your event. This will be an additional fee ontop of your booking which would be discussed if this is something you require. 11. Will my makeup last all day/night? Despite using high quaility products your makeup will need to be touched up throughout your event. If you've been told otherwise, youve been lied to! Makeup moves with your face and will eventually start to breakdown throughout the day as natural oils come through...sad but true. It's recommend to carry a powder and lipstick to touchup throughout your event to ensure your make up is looking its best for the entirety of your event. Once your makeup is done, please avoid touching your faces, sitting in the sun, or sitting directly under a heater. These actions can cause makeup to fade or melt prematurely, which we definitely want to avoid! 12. What happens if I cancel or reschedule my wedding date? The booking fee that you have paid is to secure my services for that particular date. If you need to reschedule you will be charged a new booking fee at my current pricing, even if that is different to what you were quoted. I'm commit to saving your date for you, so therefore I have turned down many other brides and will need to be somewhat compensated for the cancellation. Your booking fee is non-refundable or transferable for any reason. 13. What about spray tanning? Make sure you get a spray tan trial before your big day, there's nothing worse than ending up with a patching green tan!If you’re planning on getting a spray tan, it’s perfectly fine to get a light layer on your face. It won’t ruin your makeup and will help maintain a consistent skin tone from head to toe. Your professional spray tan expert will know whats best.
Lets talk SKIN PREP
Please avoid trying any new skincare products or treatments for at least a month before your wedding. New products can sometimes cause irritation or breakouts, which are best avoided as your big day approaches. I know it sounds fun to do a face mask the night before your wedding but the last thing you want is to react to something and have a flare up! My best tips would be to keep your skin hydrated and ensure you wear spf daily. Alternativly seek some guidance from a trusted skin specialist fore their expertise. * This applys to event makeup in studio aswell as bridal *
Love Notes
Montanna made me feel like I was worthy of an Pinterest board all about me! She took time to understand the make up look and feel I was hoping for as well as for my bridesmaids and my Mum. The girls felt and looked gorgeous and it was all thanks to Montanna crafting the “desired look” to best suit my bridal party. Nothing was too big of a deal for Montanna, she was calm and personable. She worked seamlessly with my other vendors and even stayed until I was in the car to ensure any last minute touch ups weee completed before my photos. I wish Montanna could paint my face every day. I am ever grateful for how she made me feel and look! I couldn’t recommend Montanna more if I tried. She’s exactly who a bride needs on their special day.

Montanna is the best MUA in the business. If you want to look like you fell straight out of a Pinterest photo, then she’s your girl!! Me, my Mum, and my five bridesmaids had the absolute pleasure of getting our wedding makeup done by Mon; seven faces, and she did them all to absolute perfection without even taking a break. She knows her colour theory, skin types, and how to make a makeup look last all day and night so well. Not to mention, she is such a beautiful person inside and out, who is so laid-back and easy to get along with!

I was lucky enough to have Montanna do my make up for my best friends engagement party. She was incredible - after just showing a photo of what I was roughly after and a brief discussion, I was so happy with the end result. Montanna was so professional, confident and knew exactly what she was doing which was appreciated. Can’t recommend her highly enough. Thank you!
